Murder of Crows

Crows have the ability to remember people for decades.
Why won’t they remember me?

For the past 15 years Charlotte has been into crows. The science is dazzling, the mythology deep, the folklore hilarious and the history dark. Yet she has not been able to befriend one.

This is a show about our much maligned neighbours, the “feathered apes” among us who plan, play, deceive and possibly even grieve. Through a rich and dizzying array of stories, mysteries and cracking anecdotes the show looks at the relationship between humans and crows and the desire, complexity and ethics of trying to befriend an animal.

Expect shapeshifting battle goddesses, vengeful kings and scientists with stick on beards.

“Charlotte's tales of Corvids made me look at these much-maligned birds in a new light and question exactly what intelligence really is.”

70 mins.
